Clearly you work for the council or are simply misguided! – however we are fair and unbiased here so we will give you the forum to comment. To answer your questions. We are not anarchists here and are not against a community charge, but when that charge is grossly over inflated and 24% of it goes into private pension funds for councillors we have issue with it. You ask what would happen if the council didn’t collect bins etc. That could be done by private contractors at a much more competitive price – for example – one of our members has stated that he could get a private recycling firm to collect his bins once a week for £312.00 per year. The police and ambulance should be funded from peoples taxes not by the local councils who are buying up police forces so that they can use them for their own private protection thugs. I would politely suggest before you make such sweeping statements you do your research this subject as we have done for the last 7 years.
